Biography: Jim Bultman: Ever had a dream? Ever sell everything you own to follow that dream? Jim did. Paddling has been Jim’s passion since he took his first Boundary Waters Canoe Area trip when he was 12 years old. After graduating from UW-Madison and working his way up to a Buyer at Target, Jim left the corporate world to travel the world outside the cubicle and guide full-time. Jim has paddled and guided trips in the Everglades, BWCA, San Juan Islands, Prince William Sound, Ozarks, Allagash and Mississippi Rivers and, of course, Lake Powell.  On a sabbatical from paddling, Jim decided to hike from Mexico to Canada in 2009.  The highlight?  He met his wife!  Leaving the 10,000 lakes of Minnesota to run a kayaking business in the high desert may seem odd, but if you ask him, Jim will tell you he is living his dream.

Biography: Katalina Jimenez: Kat will be the first to tell you she lets Jim do all the paddling when he guides her on the water. Kat is the face you’ll see in the office and the voice you’ll hear on the phone. She loves hiking, biking and going on paddling trips with Jim. She left her job at Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis to support Jim and his dream.  These two crazy kids met on their 2,650 mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail. She was Sologirl and he was Mr. 6000 but now they are known as the team that makes up Kayak Powell.
